The Satellite S-001 is being discontinued along with the OctoBar. We have seen a few partial failures of the red LED chips in high-usage situations (1 year or more). We're putting our remaining stock on clearance discount until stock is gone. All S-001 modules sold as-is, but tested working before we ship.

The Satellite Module S-001 is a 10 LED array of five-chip 100mA wide-angle (140 degree) red, green, and blue LEDs. The perceived output power of the red channel is a little less than the blue and green channels, so there are 4 red, 3 blue, and 3 green LEDs. Each LED supplies ~35,000 mcd over a 140 degree viewing angle. Combine with the OctoBar to make an array of super-bright LED clusters. These are as bright as 15 ShiftBrites on the blue and green, and 20 ShiftBrites on the red channel!

The Satellite S-001 has an RJ14/RJ25 modular jack. It is designed to plug into the OctoBar LED controller using standard voice-wired modular telephone cables. This is a great improvement over screw terminals when wiring large systems, both for initial setup and continued maintenance. The Satellite S-001 and the OctoBar are both designed to take advantage of the extra two wires if 6P6C cables are used instead of the more common 6P4C.

Each channel of the Satellite S-001 requires 9 to 10 VDC at 100mA. There are no current control resistors, you can add your own or use this with an OctoBar, which has current control. The OctoBar as sold is set to 100mA per channel, perfect for the Satellite S-001. When using an LED controller like the OctoBar, an ideal and easy to find supply voltage is 12V.

This product is constructed with RoHS compliant lead-free components and solder.
